A morning mix of entertainment headlines .â.â.
In an odd coincidence, the now former head of the CIA, David Petraeus (youâve probably heard of him), is featured in the new, heavily hyped video game âCall of Duty: Black Ops II.â In the fictional world of the game, heâs cast as the defense secretary. For the record, someone else provides his âvoice,â and Paula Broadwell does not appear at any point. However, Oliver North â" who did lend his own words to the proceedings â" does show up, as does the music of Trent Reznor. So the next time someone says you donât keep up with current events because youâre too busy playing video games, feel free to point out that video games and current events are basically the same thing. Hey, since this whole âTwilightâ thing is almost over, this is probably a good time to unveil the trailer for âThe Host,â the next film based on a Stephenie Meyer novel. (Via MTV)
Selena Gomez was among the honorees at last nightâs Glamour Women of the Year Awards. And even though she just broke up with the most desirable famous tweenthrob with a heavily followed Twitter account, she looked great. Other honorees included Lena Dunham, Annie Leibovitz and the U.S. gymnastics team. (People)
J.J. Abrams says he does not want to direct the new âStar Warsâ movie. Steven Spielberg said the same thing. So does this mean the next Jedi tale is Brad Birdâs for the taking? (Entertainment Weekly)
In other preposterous âStar Warsâ rumors, a sketchy report in the U.K. Express suggests that Darth Vader could be in the next movie, even though â" spoiler alert from 1983 â" he died in âReturn of the Jedi.â (Punch Drunk Critics)
Barbra Walters is still kind of irritated about Lindsay Lohan bailing on their interview and then deciding to chat up Jay Leno on âThe Tonight Showâ instead. (TV Column)
FYI: Bella Swan, Katniss Everdeen and Hermione Granger hung out recently. (MTV)
Phew, yâall. âNashvilleâgot a full season pick-up from ABC. (Huffington Post)
Watch Bradley Cooper explain to David Letterman how his Uncle Ernie taught Robert De Niro how to speak with a Philadelphia accent. (Note: includes Cooper doing a De Niro impression, as well as an Uncle Ernie impression.)
