More than a month after Verizon Wireless began accepting pre-orders for Samsung's Galaxy Note II, the phablet is finally reaching customers.
Beginning tomorrow, the smartphone/tablet hybrid will be available for purchase online and in Verizon stores. Those who pre-ordered the device will be notified via email when their device is shipped.
Samsung's Note II gives users what Verizon called the best of both worlds, "with its large yet pocketable" 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED screen. Running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and an Exynos 1.6-GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, the phone costs $299.99 with a two-year contract. The device comes in marble white or titanium grey and sports an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, as well as a 1.9-megapixel camera on the front.
The Galaxy Note II also includes a slide-out S Pen for easy note-taking, particularly with the phone's Popup Note feature, which serves as a quick notepad.
Meanwhile, the Multi Window view allows users to run two apps simultaneously  watch YouTube videos on one side of the screen while texting a friend on the other.
Samsung's phablet made its debut in September during the IFA conference in Berlin, before Samsung's launch event in New York City last month. Following its recent release on the AT&T and Sprint networks, the Samsung device was able to celebrate a milestone on Monday as worldwide sales topped 5 million in two months.
It's not all sunshine and lollipops for Samsung's new handset, though. Last week, rival Apple filed to include the Note II, among other Samsung devices, on its list of devices that Cupertino claims infringe on its patents.
